wellness workshop autumn 2023

In September the clocks go back, there are less daylight hours and the weather has changed. Does your mood fluctuant or even dip when these things happen? We have no control over the weather or the change in seasons, we do however have control over how we choose to cope with these challenges.

Laughter is a coping mechanism that you may not have considered before. Did you know that laughter activates our "happy chemistry"? When we belly laugh we start to release chemicals that are naturally made by our bodies that ultimately makes us feel good, helps us to cope better, improves our perspective and increases motivation.

Course Leader

Sarah is an Integrative therapist who has worked in private practice in Nottingham city centre for over ten years. Working in private practice has provided Sarah with many opportunities especially supporting clients with their trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and identity. From 2015 to 2019 she set up and hosted the BACP Network Group in Nottingham and then later with two colleagues they collectively founded the Nottingham Counsellors Group whose aim was to bring trainers to Nottingham allowing attendees access to counselling training on a not-for-profit basis. By 2021 she had completed two supervision diplomas: Creative and Passionate Supervision and The Seven Eyed Model of Supervision.

From June 2021 to November 2022 Sarah was a Clinical Lead for a small cancer charity (Sue Young Cancer Support) in Leicester and this is where she discovered Laughter Yoga. The experience was profound, and it was no surprise that soon after she enrolled in Laughter Yoga Leader training and in April 2023, she began her level 7 Accredited Laughter Therapist training.
